Gratitude

Today I chose to write a few lines about gratitude and its meaning and I will start the mini reading session with Melody Beattie's quote where "Gratitude gives meaning to the past, brings peace to today and creates the vision for tomorrow".

What does Gratitude mean to you?

When we talk about gratitude, studies in the field of psychology tell us about its association with a feeling of joy, positive emotions, a state of well-being that helps us build healthy relationships, an increase in immunity and restful sleep. Practicing gratitude leads to better success in achieving personal and professional goals, increased self-esteem, and benefits such as reduced anxiety and depression.

How can we practice Gratitude?
˚ offers sincere compliments,
˚ leave written messages to your loved ones next to your school package, on your bedside table, in your pencil case, in your pocket, or wherever you feel that the joy of your act begins for you too,
˚ "build" a box of gratitude where each member of the family will put a colorful post-it containing a message for which you are grateful every day,
˚ show gratitude to whoever offers you help in carrying out a task,
˚ show yourself gratitude for the man you are today, here and now,
˚ be grateful for the house you live in, because you have the opportunity to study/work, for friends, because you are healthy, for your family.

Gratitude becomes a role model for the people in our lives, creates values, develops empathy. By practicing it consistently, it becomes a morale booster and draws attention to the help received and encourages reciprocity.
